Activity 3: Top Secret Street Art [6 points]
Banksy” is an influential artist from England. He is very private and secretive. In fact, almost no one knows who he really is - he always creates his art in secret! Banksy often uses stencils to create his street art.
Street art, or graffiti art, is all around us. Sometimes the art tells a story, sometimes it makes a building look more interesting, and sometimes it makes us think hard about something. In 2011, the city of Christchurch experienced a huge earthquake. A lot of the central city buildings fell down. It takes a long time to rebuild a city, and there are areas of Christchurch where buildings are still damaged and/or need to be rebuilt. Street artists in Christchurch have seen this as a chance to create artwork that helps to make the city beautiful again. You can see lots of amazing street art in Christchurch at the moment! Here is a site that shows you where to find it.

There similarities are they are the same style thats probably because maybe the same artist did them and they both have good positive and kind little inputs and they also are both very clear of what the artist it trying to put out there is the world

  1. Ata Mārie Courtney,

Well done for having a go at todays street art activity. I think Banksy is great and all his works are so creative and aren’t always the same! He always puts so much detail into his artwork, his is amazing.

I like some of the things that you have noticed about Banksy’s work, you can really tell that he is trying to convey a message through his art which I think is so cool!

You have made a great start of sharing some of the similarities and differences between the two pieces you have chosen. Could you please have another go at responding to this activity, maybe with a little bit more detail about what you see, it can be anything - try and be specific :)

    Ka kite for now,
    Kueni.
