DAY 5: HUMANITARIAN HEROES

Activity 1: Everyday Heroes [4 points]
Every day, the men and women in the Emergency Services provide help and support people in New Zealand and around the world. At times, they have to risk their lives in order to save others.
Common Emergency Services include the Fire Service, the Police Force and the Ambulance Service. Other related services include the Air AmbulanceSearch and RescueCoast GuardSurf Lifesaving, and the Civil Defence (amongst others).
In Australia, Fire Services are currently fighting more than 150 wildfires burning in New South Wales, a province on the east coast of the country. The wildfires started in November 2019 and are not expected to stop for many weeks. It is a very challenging time for the men and women serving in the Emergency Services in Australia.

  1. Mālō Ni Courtney,

Kei te pai and well done on another awesome blog post today! Can you believe you there are only a couple weeks left of the school holidays?! I hope you are enjoying them.

Thank you for sharing your five ways you can think of that people can help support people in Australia who are being affected by the fires. It is a great tragedy what not only the people but the animals are facing over in Australia. I can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through.

I like all the ideas you have shared on your blog post today, especially how you talk about creating posters about what is happening in Australia to bring awareness to people who may not know about the bush fires. It could also be a good idea to make posters about where people can donate too, because you have also talked about that too!

This activity also asks you to post the brainstorm you made for this activity as well, please make sure to attach this to your blog post.

    Blog ya later,
    Kueni :)
